What I Pack for Italy

One bag, ten days, and the four things I have never regretted bringing.

What I Pack for Italy

Italy in September is warm at lunch and cold at midnight, and half the floors are marble. I pack for that, and for the fact that I always walk more than I plan to.

What goes in first

The linen shirt, two sizes up
Over swimwear, over a dress, over everything. Third summer, softer every wash.

Flat sandals I can walk in
Broken in before the trip, never during. I learned that the hard way in Rome.
